WEATHER AND TIME

weather and time

The Instructor software instantly gives trainers full control over the time of day or night, and day of the year. This makes it possible to achieve realistic sunrise and sunset times, creating difficult low light conditions that match those of the real-world and accurately representing glare and impaired signal visibility. A variety of daytime conditions can easily be programmed including bright sunlight and shadows. Night driving can be trained too, with all buildings and streets switching automatically to night-time mode, or simulating the gradual onset of dusk and night lighting.

Weather types include:

  • Clear & sunny
  • Dull & overcast
  • Rain of varying intensity
  • Fog
  • Snow

Weather can be controlled through the Instructor Software in real time during a training session to test driver reaction to changing conditions. The realistic behaviour of the vehicle, wheel slip, reduced braking and the use of sanding are all faithfully reproduced as conditions change.
